Notes during recording:
This album turned out to be the fruits of the
harvest for the band. In all the work that
went into "Some Things Remain The Same" these
songs came fast and furious. Despite an
incredible case of Writer's Block by Ken, the
band jump started their songwriting with the
incredibly easy melody in the form of an old
time country song. Had it not been for
"Lonesome Oak" the album would have been caught
in purgatory. But luckily, once that song was
constructed, it all fell into place and the
album turned into one enormous adventure. The
most interesting part of it was you could
actually dance to it. The album also debuted
the vocal talents of Bill Golden who stepped
out on the title track LONG ISLAND (DISCO
GRANDE).
